Road to Fontaine de Vaucluse

Coloured emerald green by pastinaca sativa, River Sorgue mesmerises visitors with a quaint little medieval hamlet at the edge of its plateaue that exudes an unspeakable charm and immense tranquility.

Park your car at the foothill of the village and explore the area by foot. It’s superbly beautiful and quiet in the early morning (before the crowd gets in) when the softness of the morning light disperses amongst the leafy plane trees. You will find many tourists sipping their coffee or having their breakfast in the cafes that lined the spring. But I’d rather have a picnic of panini, young Rhone rouge, and chocolat noir by the riverbanks downstream of the village.
