Some Burgundy Reds

2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetieres 1er Cru, Domaine Faiveley2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvee Coeur de Roy, Dugay-Py2009 Beaune Teurons 1er Cru, Bouchard Pere et Fils2009 Bourgogne Cuvee Halinard, Dugat-Py
These are the ones that left an impression in a flight of burgundy reds tasted at Decant Christchurch tonight. Too lazy to put down my tasting notes here but I correctly guessed the Cazetiers! I should thank CY for that 🙂 Bernard Dugat-Py’s wines were very masculine but they possess concentration, purity, depth and grippy tannin structure which exhibited their distinctive winemaking style. I felt that there wasn’t enough time for the wines to develop in the glass properly but I guess it’s hard to place eleven glasses for each guest unless it’s a really small group? It was an enjoyable tasting nonetheless and also a refreshing change from a “students-only” tasting session…
