Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc 2001

Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc 2001 (Magnum)An excellent drink with the bellota! Flinty, lemony, slightly yeasty with streaks of mineral tones and a medium to medium-plus finish. The wine was truly well-made, alive and singing. Time to drink up if you have any left in your cellar. After all, it’s just a basic bourgogne. The bottle I had was a magnum, and possibly the reason why the wine has kept so well. My friends and I didn’t manage to finish it and I brought the bottle home – it was still very fresh and tasty on its second day! Yums!

heritage shophouses

Abandonedthe fading goldThere are so many of them in Georgetown, Penang. Some are under re-construction or preservation, but quite a number of them have been abandoned or in ruins. I loved the colours, the wood carvings, the old rusty locks and the adorable vintage mozaic tiles. If only the municipal council can do something about those stinky drains and canals…

Dragon pearl biscuitsThey are not the most famous Penang tau sar pneah , but I find that their version (called dragon ball biscuits) is less dry compared to the likes of Ghee Hiang, and these biscuits retained the fragrance that I look for when I bite into the traditional Penang cookie. Him Heang is supposedly much much better (no individual packing) but was just a little far from where I was. Just not meant to be I guess 🙂
