However, the mango sticky rice and dessert soup were good. Oh, and I forgot to mention the excellent meat skewers that one should must get while one waits patiently for those guys to dole out the bloody flat noodles one plate at a time.

Soi Polo's Fried Chicken and Sticky Rice

So much had been written about the fried chicken (topped with a copious amount of salty but addictive deep fried thai garlic bits) on Soi Polo that it needs no introduction I reckon. Personally, I find the deep-fried fish cakes and the pork salad with mint (nam tok moo) more outstanding than the chicken, especially when eaten with sticky rice. Having said that, the huge bunch of American expats who happened to sit on the table next to me all had an individual serving of a WHOLE chicken, slathered with a sinful amount of sweet Thai chilli sauce. I know it’s free-flow, but come on dudes…
