Much better than the last Spatlese trocken. Feminine and delicate. Light pale yellow core; floral, light honey, crystallized ginger, fresh lime peel and mineral nose; clean, crisp, fresh green mangoes, limes, lime pith on the palate with med+ acidity and med to med+ length. Dainty and alluring on a rainy evening (yesterday). Had a glass with the prawn and spinach tagliatelle I made for lunch and it was really lovely for the sunny weather too!
This didn’t show very well yesterday, compared to this, or even this! Just a few more grams of sugar would have brought the balance of the wine back into a more acceptable palate structure. No food involved while sipping on this, so I guess I should give it another go with some northern indian curries in the not so distant future 🙂
