Bright lemon-yellow core; slightly flinty, fresh ripe peaches, lemon peel on the nose; similar palate with good intensity of flavours, a tinge of bitterness and spiciness. Medium to medium plus acidity, med finish. An excellent saturday afternoon drink. Saving some for my pan-seared salmon salad later 🙂
Clear light canary core with a very pale rim. Flint, minerals, pineapples and hazelnut cream on the nose. Clean and crisp with similar flavours on the palate. Elegant and restrained. Medium to medium-plus acid and length. Juicy; slightly spicy finish. Another excellent example of NZ chardonnay which didn’t see an overt use of oak. In fact, it was quite Chablis like.
